How a Young Bride Can Learn To Cook

Joining a Cooking club is a good way to learn how to cook
Let's face it. Traditional housewives, in the retro sense, just don't exist in great numbers--if at all--anymore.

On the other hand, some wives and mothers boast in the claim of being a housewife of 50's quality. Husband, kids, housework.

Young brides of 20th century, who grew up in a fast-food culture, are generally at a loss in the kitchen.

Nevertheless, men still prefer wives/women who can master all things kitchen.

Many young brides don't know what to do with a roasting pan when they get married.

Young women were either not interested in cooking or no one bothered to teach them. Whatever the reason, young brides who cook well have no problem mastering their home life. Brides who can't cook should learn. Period.

The bride who doesn't know or learn how to cook will surely add another unpleasant marital problem.

While it's true every marriage has to work out various becoming-one issues, I'm a firm believer in doing what's necessary to avoid the preventable ones.

Why provoke a tense home atmosphere? Trust me. The home atmosphere will be tense enough, without the added financial inconvenience of eating out because wifey can't cook.

Naturally, it's better to understand the art of cooking before marriage. However, if that's not the case, you still have options.

Join a cooking club

Cooking clubs are popular with women who can't cook or don't like to cook, although these female gatherings are also high on the list with many women who do master switchin' in the kitchen.

Generally, women who form cooking clubs love to cook. They love the idea of discovering and sharing new recipes, participating in preparations, tastings and learning techniques.

Many cooking clubs have websites that you can join and participate in recipe sharing, how-to's and have access to healthy meal ideas. With these options, everyone can learn to cook!

If you're searching for a club to join, The Cooking With Friends Club is a wonderful example of how resourceful and fun cooking clubs can be. If you need an incentive, the Cooking With Friends Club member can participate in reviews and receive everything from food items to cookware sets.

The Pioneer Woman is another cooking website you will absolutely love! FYI - It loads somewhat slowly because there's so much to see and do over there.

For information on other cooking clubs, simply Google the term 'cooking clubs'.

Teach yourself to cook

You're probably thinking, "If I could teach myself, I would be cooking already!" ~giggles

Anyone can learn to cook by simply acquiring and using recipe books. Since it's not popular to give recipe books as bridal gifts, you have to buy your own. Nevertheless, the few dollars you spend for one is more than worth the investment.

There's nothing difficult about doing a self-teaching course with recipes. You buy whatever the recipe requires, measure all your ingredients, closely follow the instructions and wallah! You have a dish that's probably gonna taste delicious!

TV cooking shows

I get a lot of great meal ideas from TV cooking shows. They are fantastic. Not only do you get the recipe, but you get to see it being prepared. The only thing missing is having them bring the meal to your house.

Flip My Food, hosted by Chef Jeff Henderson, is one of my two favorite cooking shows. He's as  great an instructor as he is a chef. The energy he brings to his cooking show draws the viewer in. Being engaging with his audience also helps. You can see the pleasure on their faces as they taste the entrée he prepares.

Another favorite is Martha Stewart. Don't you just love Martha's cooking techniques? Her show is my favorite because once I watch her show for the many wonderful foods, I can go to another one of her websites and get craft ideas, decorating tips, sewing and a lot more.

Did you know Martha Stewart conducts a TV cooking school?

After reading this post, I hope you're more eager about learning to cook. There's a health benefit to cooking and knowing the art of healing through foods. When you don't cook, you depend on fast-foods, pre-packaged and genetically modified (GMO) substances. I talk about that a little here.

The question I ask here is, "How safe is eating out?"

If you're a new bride, and you can't cook, this post should start you on your journey of options. When you take the time and exert the effort it takes to prepare a wholesome, delicious meal, your husband will love and appreciate you even more.

Try it.
